Determinants of Academic Staff Turnover Intention in case of Bonga University

The result of the study showed that determinants; External factors have strong influence on Academic Staff Turnover Intention and weak impact with personal and Internal factors to Turnover Intention at Bonga University. The correlation results indicate that there is a positive correlation between the determinants and Turnover Intention. The results of the regression test showed that External factors have significant on Turnover intention. Thus, the determinants affect turnover intention that have not improve in order to maximizing academic programs and working conditions, working with city administration in order to facilitate better living and recreation centres, solving house problem staff and facilitating good education for children. The prevalence of academic staff intending to leave was found to be moderate and as a result, Before the intention is going to high rate take action in order to fill gaps of external factors the result presented and there should be staff retention mechanisms in place to improve the work environment and remuneration methods to retain senior and skilled academicians. Generally, based on the above findings the researchers were forward the possible recommendation and future research direction.

Utilization of Teaching Manpower in the Junior High Schools of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District, Ghana

In The study investigated the extent of teacher utilization problems in the junior high schools (JHSs) in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District. It specifically sought to find out whether there were differences in teacher utilization with respect to gender, ownership of school, number of subjects taught, teaching experience, qualification, professional status and rank in the Ghana Education Service. A sample of 192 teachers made up of 160 teachers and 32 head teachers provided data for the descriptive study. Two set of questionnaires were designed for heads and teachers with reliability coefficients of 0.78 and 0.81 respectively. The SPSS was used to analyze data collected by using statistical tools such as frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Chi-square test, t-test and Pearson’s correlation. All the analyses were at a significance cutoff of 0.05. The study revealed that although majority (88.8%) of the teachers were under-utilized in terms of teaching load, they were over-worked in the areas of teaching-related and co-curricula activities.

An Investigation into the Challenges Preventing Students of Educational Administration and Planning from Using ICT for Learning in Nigeria Higher institutions

The main purpose of this research work was to investigate the challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning in Nigeria higher institutions: a case study of university of Abuja, Nigeria. The sample for this study was all the students in university of Abuja. 50 students from each level of the department of educational administration and planning totaling 200were randomly selected from the department using simple random sampling technique. One hypothesis and three research questions were postulated as a guide to this study and a seven sub-items questionnaire divided into two sections was used to get the required information. A simple percentage and chi-square was used to test the hypotheses at 0.95% level of significance. It was found out that there are challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning. The challenges preventing students of educational administration and planning from using ICT for learning includes; unstable power supply, lack of personal laptop or computer system, unstable ICT Network services, lack of computer literacy by the students, High cost of ICT services, poor infrastructural facilities of ICT in higher institutions and poor computer literacy of the lecturers. Base on the findings, the researchers recommends that the government should increase the funding of education in Nigeria to enable schools administrators provide necessary ICT facilities in their various schools.

Improvement of the Production Quality of the Textile Industries in Madagascar by the Knowledge Engineering

The textile industry in Madagascar has a very important weight for the Malagasy economic situation. It is the sector that contributes the most to job creation as well as to export. There are two main categories of factories: free zone companies that are moving towards export and small and medium-sized units who produce for local consumption. The lack of technical competence of the majority of the employees constitutes a common block for the two factories category. The failure is related to the low employee’s education level. This gap questions the competitiveness of textile enterprises in Madagascar at national and global level. Moreover, quality is one of the critical success factors that must be mastered by textile companies to be able to dominate the world of competition.

Analysis of the Relationship between Credit Risk and Bank Performance of Some Commercial Banks in Ghana

This study analysed the relationship between credit risk and bank financial performance of selected commercial banks in Ghana for the period 2010 - 2014, using the banks respective financial statements. The study employed the quantitative research approach. The sample was Ghana Commercial Bank Limited, Zenith Bank Limited, UT Bank and Ecobank Plc. These four banks were selected using stratified random sampling technique. The data were primarily secondary and quantitative in nature. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. When the banks were compared, Ghana Commercial Bank Limited was found to be more liquid than Zenith Bank Limited. That of Zenith bank was also higher than UT bank and Ecobank Plc .However, profitability indicators showed that Zenith Bank Limited and Ecobank Plc utilised its assets better than Ghana Commercial Bank Limited and UT bank resulting in the two banks higher scores over the period. The findings show further that Ghana Commercial Bank Limited showed higher ratios for investment in the future while Zenith Bank Limited showed higher ratios of higher dividend immediately. However, Zenith Bank Limited capital adequacy level was far higher than the legal requirement of Banking sector while its counterparts fell slightly below it in terms of average. Based on the main findings and conclusions, it is recommended that Ghana Commercial Bank Limited should find a means of reducing its expenditure, introducing prudent assets management, should be cautious when assisting government in time of economic difficulty, and operate as an independent entity.

High voluntary employee turnover in service industries often exceeds 60%, negatively affecting profitability due to employee replacement costs. In studies conducted with multinational corporate leaders, they acknowledged a lack of business direction resulting in a 68% failure to implement organizational strategies. Through a multiple case study, we aimed to explore the human capital strategies utilized in the automotive and food service industries to reduce voluntary employee turnover. Indoctrination against Violence Orientation

The saying “no victim - no crime” suggests police intervention is victim dependent. Policing that relies solely on identifying a victim elevates the status of the perpetrator. When suspicion of illegality (victimization) – whether against individuals or government statutes – must occur to justify police involvement, the intervention is victim-dependent. A consequence of this practice is that by the time legal thresholds are achieved to arrest would-be perpetrators it is often too late. Opportunities to affect behaviors of would-be perpetrators may not be influenced within the victim-dependent response to crime fighting. Alternatively, teaching laws to school-aged youth has been used to dissuade perpetrator behavior and violence. Educating youth, to curtail perpetrator behavior, may be the future of crime fighting.

Solid Financial Reforms are Needed to Uplift the Distressed Real Estate Sector

After the pandemic COVID-19 breakout, there has been a significant decline in the property listings. Though the Centre has focused on the affordable housing space for reforms, there has been no visible reforms in view of the realty developers. Due to the recent moratorium imposed on the term loans, credit sources have been tightened for the realty developers coupled with other aspects. Given the difficulty in credit availing conditions in the sector, the article discusses the distressed funds as alternatives to uplift the sector. However, there are certain hurdles for the distressed funds in the form of capital structures to act quickly and operate efficiently. Why the CROWN Act of 2020 must be Passed into Law

Black people are often burdened with having to decide between their natural hair and their employment. Media reports of late have uncovered that Black people of all ages and genders have faced the difficult choice of giving in to discrimination of their natural hair in school and at sporting events. The CROWN Act of 2020 was introduced as a response and a way forward in overcoming this burden. Furthermore, this legislation is an effort to educate the general public about the natural hair styles that are often seen as unkempt but are a proud aspect of Black culture. This paper will give the author’s perspective of the significance of this legislation and personal experiences that have formed these views.

The Antibiotic Resistance Crisis - An Indian Perspective

This research study reiterates the optimal usage of antimicrobial medicines in humans and animals to lessen antibiotic resistance. A primary survey was conducted to study an individual’s role in prevention and control of antibiotic resistance. It was found that antibiotics are being irrationally used and the efficacy of antibiotics, as previously transforming the medical sciences and saving lives of many is in danger due to the quick emergence of bacterial resistance. Extensive efforts are therefore required to manage crisis by implementing new policies and renewing research efforts. In a post-crisis pandemic, leaders must learn how to plan, organize, lead and control. The planning phase leads managers to develop an overall strategy by selecting goals, allocating resources and determining success rates of the plans to improve the overall strategy of the organization. During the second phase, organizing determines the organizational structure for executing the plans, assigns authorities, defines resource allocations and details how well tasks will be organized. In the third phase, leading will identify those who will head the plan and manage all tasks during implementation. Controlling is the last phase where continuous monitoring occurs surrounding goals completions and interventions.

Developing and Testing Influencers of Perception in the Workplace with the Perception Power Index (PPI)

Organizations utilize assessments to determine issues that impact productivity and performance. Although there are assessments that determine a variety of behavioral influences, including a cultural quotient (CQ) or an emotional intelligence quotient (EQ), there are few tools that can determine the impact of perception to provide a perception quotient (PQ). If perception can be defined as a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something, it is critical for organizations to recognize the impact perception has on employees’ ability to communicate effectively. A new tool, the Perception Power index (PPI), was created to assess the factors that impact perception in working adults, including evaluation, prediction, interpretation, and correlation. The validity of the PPI was evaluated using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The factor analysis with Varimax Rotation indicated a Cronbach α of 0.89 for evaluation, 0.87 for prediction, 0.81 for interpretation, and 0.75 for correlation. Although other tools measure forms of perception, there are no tools that measure these four factors that impact the perception process. The results indicate that the PPI is a valid tool.

The Effectiveness of Ethics Training Strategies: Experiential Learning for the Win

Organizations place a great deal of emphasis on ethics, spending significant resources on ethics training initiatives. Research indicates the positive impact that ethical training has on a variety of organizational outcomes. However, in practice, ethics training efforts are often met with resistance and skepticism by employees. This cynicism may be merited and perceived failures in ethics training could be in part a function of the type of ethics training intervention they receive. This study examines the extent to which different types of training interventions impact participants’ moral judgment. Evidence suggests that experiential learning is superior to lecture, immersion, behavioral modeling, and role-play. This research contributes to the training and pedagogical literature. It provides evidence suggesting how higher education and industry may better equip students and employees for the ethical challenges they face in today’s workplace.

The Rise of Platform-based Models and its Impact on Banking and Financial Services

The banking and financial services industry is getting disintermediated. The platform model is disrupting almost every industry and banking and financial services industry is not an exception. Platform players are giving serious competition to the traditional banking and financial services players. The disintermediation of the vertically integrated value chain is altering the industry landscape across geographies. Amazon, Google, Apple, Facebook in North America and Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent in China are acquiring new customers and offering products and services on their ecosystem as Orchestrators, while their partners are taking advantage of the ecosystem and creating competitive advantage through their products and services. The disruption of the traditional vertically integrated industry structure looks real and may have reaching consequences. The cost advantage of the platform model will lure firms to be partners in this model. The network effect of the platform model makes it a sustainable business model with long term revenue opportunities. Traditional firms may need to alter the way they did business to survive the onslaught from platform players.

Reducing Voluntary Turnover through Career Development: Strategic HRD Research Proposal

Voluntary employee turnover in the United States continues to spiral out of control and is expected to steadily increase in the coming years. Annual cost to American businesses exceeded $630 billion and is expected to exceed $700 billion within the next 24 months. The reasons for the sharp increase in voluntary turnover are not generational by nature as employees of all generations seek a connection with their employer and the ability to share in the firm’s growth. The reasons expressed by employers and employees include lack of training, weak relationships with managers and a general disconnect from company strategy. The primary reason given in recent years is lack of career development. Scheduled, agenda-driven discussions between senior leadership and the employee is needed to focus on employee skills, capacity for learning and enterprise goals has shown promise in reducing voluntary turnover, increasing employee engagement, and increasing talent depth in medium and large businesses. Career planning and development is not necessarily transactional as it includes specific training for a specific purpose to fit the firm’s strategic objectives. This approach can be used for lateral and vertical movement within the company. This proposal seeks to bridge the gap between existing literatures, current human capital management practices and move the discussion to a level that benefits employees and employers alike.
