Machine Maintenance Type and Quality of Output: Evidence from Ghanaian Manufacturing Firms

The need to manage machine maintenance effectively has gained more importance due to the high rate of changing operational technologies, changing market demands, increased emphasis on employee safety, and new environmental legislation. To demonstrate the purpose of maintenance in the manufacturing value chain, the study sought to investigate the relationship between machine maintenance type and quality of output as well as to establish whether machine maintenance contributes to quality of output among Ghanaian manufacturing firms. Data was collected from 150 manufacturing firms in Tema and Accra Metropolis by using questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS and SmartPLS software. The findings showed significantly direct relationship between all the maintenance types, except corrective maintenance, and quality of output.

The Mediating Role of New Product Development in the Relationship Between Entrepreneurial Marketing and Growth Intentions

The purpose of this study is to discover how entrepreneurial marketing affects growth intentions through new product development and can help to create and facilitate access to entrepreneurial opportunities to develop new product, in turn help the firm to adapt the strategy of growth intention. The study adopted quantitative methods, and using structural equation modeling, data were collected utilized the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was directed to SMEs managers, 248 questionnaires were collected.

Factor Analysis: Dealing with Response Bias

This paper proposes an innovative method for factor analyzing data that potentially contains individual response bias. Past methods include the use of “ipsative” data, or, related to that, “ipsatized” data. Unfortunately, factor analysis as the main method used for analyzing the dimensionality of data, cannot be applied to ipsative data. In contrast, normalization of data as an alternative method to filter out response bias, is not hampered by the technical statistical issues inherent to applying multivariate techniques to ipsative data. Using high-quality data from a survey in Nepal that makes use of – among others – the High-Performance Organizations (HPO) framework, this paper shows that the traditional approach of directly applying Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) starting from an existing model or theory, is inferior to our approach.

Impact of Select National and International Incidents on Gold and Silver Prices in India

In this paper an attempt is made to know the impact of select national and international incidents such as Russia and Ukraine War, Afghanistan War, 1st Lockdown in India, US and Iraq Civil war and Surgical Strike in India on gold and silver prices from 2019 to 2022. The study used t-test: Paired Two Sample for Means and correlation to know the volatility and relationship between gold, silver prices with the value of Indian currency. The study finds the significance difference between gold prices, silver prices and value of Indian currency before and after the incidents.

It is important to identify and assess factors related to corporate governance which affect the financial statements quality of listed companies on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX). The results of this study show that these factors including the independence of Board of Directors (BOD), BOD ownership, and auditing firm quality and size of company have impacts the financial reporting quality of firms on the HNX. In addition, we find that the size and leverage of the company can serve as a basis for improving the quality of financial statements in the future
